HSBC Mobile Cash Withdrawal Video
Echo Picture works with Mirum to create an online video for the HSBC Hong Kong website to promote and educate people on how to use the HSBC HK app Mobile Cash Withdrawal feature.
We collaborate with Mirum for character design and scene design. The character is a young trendy guy who is savvy in digital technology. His style of clothing design has a lot of detail - like the fur on the sleeves and the leather life-like material that makes the character more realistic.
The scene design is mainly using the HSBC red monochromatic branding to enhance the uniqueness and to create a pop art look and feel.

Design
For 3D modeling and UV work, I utilize Cinema 4D, while Zbrush is my go-to tool for sculpting hair. When creating jackets, I turn to Marvelous Designer and employ cloth simulation techniques to achieve a realistic look with appropriate folds. To add texture details such as leather, I use Substance Painter. Lastly, for rigging purposes, I rely on Maya.

Jacket Details with Marvelous Designer
Initially, I utilized Zbrush to generate creases on the fabric, but the outcome was unsatisfactory. Subsequently, I experimented with Marvellous Designer, a software renowned for producing lifelike clothing, and the result was remarkably impressive. Additionally, I refined the cloth's stiffness to impart a leather-like appearance.
Manual Keyframe with Video Reference
John's animation was created using video reference, and while the outcome was acceptable, there was still room for improvement. Our Creative Director partner pointed out that the movements appeared too rigid and lacked a lifelike quality, particularly when John was standing still. As a result, we have decided to invest in a motion capture suit for our future projects. We believe that motion capture technology can capture subtle movements, resulting in more realistic and dynamic animations.
